Aw, this was a really quality post. In theory I'd like to write like this too - taking time and real effort to make a good article... but what can I say... I procrastinate alot and never seem to get something done.

We cancelled our Blockbuster and Netflix subscriptions and sat on the porch every Friday, Saturday and Sunday cause there was always something going on. Everything from the little kids (8+) stealing each others mopeds (that was comical. One moped changed hands 3 times in one night) men beating their women in their cars (not so funny, had to stop one), a Micronesian standing in the middle of the street with a huge knife threatening ppl to get of their cars (course HE got arrested. I imagined him stopping the wrong car and a gun protrude from the pax window, and you know what happens next), a rumble btwn the local teens and the Micronesian ones (w/glass bottles, sticks, & undercover cops swarming the street), Swat flooded the street w/huge artillery when a neighbor lost his job & took his wife & child hostage, ETC ...ALL in front of my house , There wasn't a night that went by that a whole slew of cop cars wouldn't go by with their sirens blasting, and an ambulance following a few minutes behind. It's finally quieted down and I've had a chance to hit my Netflix Queue. Crazy Town...Honolulu. I got even more stories filming in Chinatown. Too much excitement.

Not I. I'm so jealous. At the beginning of the summer, we decided to cancel our tv subscription. No more Law and Order, no NCIS, no Jerry Springer. Needless to say it's been a rather quiet summer. We've had no shootings, no bloody crime scenes, and no fabulous family fueds. Just when I thought I was no longer addicted to watching bloody battles and reality rantings, you get to have a live show play out right on your front lawn. I want my violent tv back.... ;-(

Hmmmm so many meals so little space to describe. My favorite, besides every Thanksgiving bird, bisquit, and breadcrumb stuffing of course, would have to be the baked bluefish my mom would make the day after my father and brothers would return from a day of deep sea fishing. Believe it or not my favorite part was the crispy, yet oily skin. I don't remember any of the sides which may or may not have been served along with that fish of blue, but I'll never forget the taste of the dark gamey meat and the contrasting texture of slick and crunch.

I've tried to bake blue fish myself and it never tastes as good. Perhaps it was the fact that the fish was freshly caught, or the fact that I was a hungry teen, or perhaps the idea of the men bringing home the hunt and the mom cooking it appealed to my desire for a close knit family. I don't know, but it was good!
